Whither the two-state solution?

The future of Palestine

The recent move of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the closing down of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation’s PLO office in Washington as well as the cut of US funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees in the near east (UNRWA) have all resulted in a deadlock and breakdown of the peace process.

During this event, ambassador Dr. Amal Jadou will discuss the latest developments on the ground in the occupied Palestinian territories and their impact on the future of the two-state solution.

US President Donald Trump’s new foreign policy regarding the Middle East Peace Process manifested in his yet to be unraveled ‘Deal of the Century’, as well as recent pre-election statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about annexing the Jordan Valley make the future of the two-state solution even more uncertain. Ambassador Jadou will touch upon all these developments and will also address the European Union’s role in the Middle East Peace Process and what steps the EU can take in order to salvage the two-state solution. The talk will be chaired by Dr Dimitris Bouris.

Self-Determination as Self-Elimination
Israel has a Jewish Problem

Much has been written about the outcomes for Palestinians who have been excluded and marginalized by the Zionist project. This event adds a layer of complexity by asking about the outcomes of popular sovereignty for those presumed to be at the center of an ethno-national state, “the people” themselves.
