Meet the Editors
This Q&A is an opportunity to meet the editors of the new ‘Journal of European Landscapes’ to allow prospective authors to find out how to get started with the process of publishing articles in the journal and about academic publishing more generally. The event will be of interest to researchers in the fields of archaeology, anthropology and art history, geography, earth sciences, economics, tourism studies, sociology, and the wider community of anyone interested in these subjects.
The Journal of European Landscapes, a new Open Access journal published by Amsterdam University Press, offers a platform for knowledge exchange on the historical and heritage aspects of rural, urban and industrial landscapes of Europe, particularly for comparative, international and contextualising approaches. During this event, we want to introduce the journal to researchers in the fields of archaeology, anthropology and art history, geography, earth sciences, economics, tourism studies and sociology. With a live stream to interested people worldwide, we hope to engage critical heritage studies scholars and the wider community of anyone interested in these subjects. About the speakers
Linde Egberts works as an Assistant Professor in the interdisciplinary field of Heritage Studies. She is trained as a human geographer and cultural historian at Utrecht University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she defended her PhD thesis Chosen Legacies in 2015. Her research interests are in heritage, identity, regions, landscape, tourism and identity.
Hans Renes is historical geographer at Utrecht University and Professor in Heritage and Planning at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Irene van Rossum manages AUP’s journals portfolio, as well as various series in History and Social & Political Sciences. Apart from proposals for new volumes in these series, she is also happy to discuss ideas for new series and journals, as well as reference works. Irene recently joined AUP with 19 years of experience in scholarly publishing at Brill where she managed various publication lists including history, classical studies, language & linguistics, and international law & international relations.
