Ella Streefkerk

Ella is a soon-to-be PhD candidate in Empirical Computational Ethics at Goethe University Frankfurt. She has a background in media studies, with a focus on critical AI as well as AI and data ethics. In her work, she draws on gender and sexuality studies to examine how power hierarchies take shape within data infrastructures and AI model development and deployment. She is drawn to research areas that are often considered uncomfortable, as reflected in her current focus on NSFW data infrastructures and their downstream implications for AI systems.
